This page describes what Newsverz actually collects today. It will be updated if that changes - for example, before any advertising or analytics is added to the site.

Comments

If you post a comment, we store the display name and text you submit, which are shown publicly on the article page. We do not require an account or email address to comment.

We also store a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address at the time you comment, used only to apply a rate limit against repeated automated submissions. We do not store your raw IP address, and the hash is never shown to anyone.

Accounts and tracking

There is no user account or login system. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind.

Hosting-level logs

Like effectively any website, our hosting infrastructure may keep standard connection logs (e.g. IP address, requested page, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. These are not used for tracking or profiling.
