قانونگذاران ایرانی در حال بررسی لوایحی هستند که ارتباط با رسانههای خارجی و گروههای بینالمللی را برای روزنامهنگاران، پژوهشگران و شهروندان عادی جرمانگاری میکند. گروههای حقوق بشری هشدار میدهند که این اقدام با هدف انزوای جامعه ایران از سایر نقاط جهان پس از سرکوبهای اخیر و اعتراضات ضددولتی انجام میشود.

این فشار قانونگذاری در میان سرکوب گستردهتر رسانهها و مخالفان در کشور صورت میگیرد که با محکومیت اخیر یک عکاس خبری به ۱۵ سال زندان برجسته شده است.
