OpenAI, Nvidia ve Japon yatırımcıların desteğiyle Ohio, Piketon'da hayata geçirilen 500 milyar dolarlık devasa yapay zeka veri merkezi projesi, binlerce kişilik istihdam yönünden ekonomik umut yaratırken çevre kaygılarını da beraberinde getirdi.

Güney Ohio'daki Apalaş eteklerindeki ormanların ardına gizlenmiş kıvrımlı bir yolda OpenAI, Nvidia ve Japon yatırımcılar, gezegendeki en büyük yapay zeka veri merkezlerinden biri olarak tanımlanan projeye 500 milyar dolar harcamaya hazırlanıyor. Geçtişimiz Mart ayında Enerji Bakanı Chris Wright, Ticaret Bakanı Howard Lutnick ve bir dizi Japon ve diğer yabancı üst düzey yetkili, 8 GW değerinde yapay zeka bilgi işlem gücü inşa etmeyi amaçlayan projenin temelini coşkuyla atmak üzere kısa süreliğine Piketon'a geldi. Piketon veri merkezi binlerce iş yaratma vaadinde bulunurken, çevreci gruplar bu devasa projeyle ilgili endişelerini dile getirdi.
