Groups Sue Trump's EPA Over Fast-Track Approval of Toxic Datacenter Chemicals

A new lawsuit has been filed against the Trump administration's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over the fast-track approval of two new datacenter chemicals. According to the lawsuit, exposure to these compounds can lead to serious health risks, including sudden death, cancer, eye corrosion, neurological damage, and reproductive harm. The compounds, which are photoacid generators, have been approved for import and immediate use in facilities across the United States. Additionally, the lawsuit warns that these chemicals appear to be PFAS 'forever chemicals,' although uncertainty remains because much of the EPA documents are redacted. Some PFAS are commonly used in the production of semiconductors.
